Welcome to the Morfeo Open-Source Software Community
The MORFEO community works towards the following goals:
- Speed up the development of Service Oriented Architectures-related software standards, which are key for both systems integration and the evolution of the network as an ecosystem of proliferating services
- Create business opportunities in the field and integrate solutions targeting enterprises and the Administration based on standard platforms and applications developed within the community
- Improve the productivity and assure the quality of open-source software-related developments that can be integrated with the standard software development infrastructure for projects of this type (Gforge)
- Act as a catalyst for R&D&I projects in the software field that naturally integrate a range of scientific and technological agents, helping to boost R&D&I activities and the development of a strong industrial fabric in countries where the consortium members operate.
The 1st Morfeo Community meeting in Iberoamerica will be held within the SEPG LA 2008 at Mar del Plata, Argentina and the presentation in society of MORFEO South Cone office.
The objective of the meeting is to present from different perspectives of the use of Free Software in companies in both sides of the Atlantic and to debate on the business and collaboration possibilities of the Open Source offers at the enterprise and the Public Administration environment. The round table will count with panelistas from first international level and it will be followed by a debate with the assistants participation.

I MORFEO Dissemination Meeting in Canarias, named “Open Source Solutions for Enterprises”, is going to be held during the Science and Innovation Weeks in Canarias. This dissemintaion event is included within the Science Weeks official site, and the agenda is available here

Morfeo announces its new Public Administration Chapter: the eAdmin Chapter. The e-Administration chapter in Morfeo aims to define standard software applications and platform for the Public Administration.
OpenFWPA, the first project within the chapter, has been released by the regional government of the Asturias and it provide a total solution of several public administration services.
